Been following the coverage in Egypt on Aljazeera. Probably the best coverage you could get of what is going on.

Marco.org: Speculation on the next MacBook Pro →
marco: Given how awesome the new MacBook Air is, I’m interested to see what Apple does with the other laptops in the lineup. I’ve had three 13” laptops (including the first-generation and current-generation Airs) and two 15” laptops, and I’ve previously been torn between these two sizes: the 15” always…

Stand Tall →
I have linked to this New York Times post a couple of times now, but here is what it says about sitting: Men who spent more than 23 hours a week watching TV and sitting in their cars (as passengers or as drivers) had a 64 percent greater chance of dying from heart disease than those who sat for 11 hours a week or less. After reading this, i think i’m going to be doing a lot more...

Attack of the vapor tablet →
Such a shame. Add this to the list of interesting places on the Internet you can’t see on your device. Of course, if you had a Toshiba Tablet, you would enjoy the entire Internet. Yep, Flash sites too. If flash is all that these iPad competitors have to go on, then they sound to me like they’re already losing this fight.

The fancy new home screen was great, but there were just a few icons to fix. I quickly realized that I would be endlessly dissatisfied, knowing that I could make the changes, update the things that I thought could be better, skin all the ugly apps with new images

MoneyGram robbed →
It is alleged that one of the employees was shot in the leg and that a suspect was nabbed in the vicinity of Fedex, and that he was beaten by members of the public before police arrived. Again i ask, when is the government of the British Virgin Islands going to change the laws to allow arm guards. It is ridiculous that arm men could walk into these establishment and walk out without fear of...

Minimal Mac: Freedom From Choice →
minimalmac: Freedom of choice Is what you got Freedom from choice Is what you want – DEVO, Freedom of Choice When you choose Apple, in many ways you are choosing a sensible default. Apple’s Diabolical Plan to Screw Your iPhone  →
fxgeek: iFixit brews up a controversy over Apple using specialist screws in the iPhone while conveniently selling a kit to replace them. By the way, it’s called non user serviceable for a reason. Like i said before, Apple sells.

Why is Verizon suing over net neutrality rules it... →
It looked quite remarkably similar to the rules eventually adopted at the FCC—the rules that Verizon has chosen to sue over now as being “contrary to constitutional right” and “otherwise contrary to law.”

Taxes
After going more than a year without my glasses, and a maybe a couple years without having my eyes checked, a few days ago i decided i should have them looked at. My test showed that there wasn’t any deterioration in my condition. Unfortunately the office where i normally have my eyes check don’t normally keep lenses in stock, so they have to place an order, which means i can’t...

chipotle: Over at TechCrunch, MG Siegler looks at Google’s recent announcement of dropping support for H.264-encoded video from Chrome and acerbically asks, “So Google, you’ll be dropping support for Flash next, right?” In the comments, many people are arguing that the two aren’t the same at all. Here’s…

parislemon: Not clear how good the source is but this makes sense given everything we know about OEMs, carriers, and Android: Our source has confirmed that there is already a fully functioning 2.2 OTA update ready to be pushed out by T-Mobile but Samsung has told them NOT to release the update for fear of it decreasing the value of the newly announced Vibrant 4G+. Coyote Tracks: Who's Afraid of the Verizon iPhone? →
chipotle: There’s not a lot to say about the Verizon iPhone that wasn’t said months ago at this point, which is oddly fascinating in its own way. Objectively, this should not be a big deal, right? Who's Afraid of the Verizon iPhone? →
marco: I was going to write about this angle of the Verizon iPhone, but Watts Martin already did a better job of communicating what I wanted to say, plus more, in this post: But in the US market the great Google vs. Apple Fight Fight Fight! has been a lot less of a real competition than either the technology press or the cheering fans make it out to be. With Verizon getting the iPhone and...

Verizon’s iPhone — Shawn Blanc →
minimalmac: Shawn provides the best brief overview I have seen of today’s Verizon iPhone announcement. I see lots of people getting all jazzed up about the “mobile hot spot” feature but here is an important note: And while the mobile hotspot is a great feature, on Verizon’s CDMA network you can’t use data and voice simultaneously. If you’re broadcasting an internet connection with your Verizon...

Marco.org: There really isn't much of a "tablet"... →
marco: There’s an iPad market, and the iPad could be classified as a tablet, from a hardware-centric viewpoint. But the market for non-iPad tablets is about as big today as it was before the iPad, which isn’t nothing, but it’s close enough to nothing that Apple doesn’t need to worry about it. How many…
